PROGRAM INFORMATION:
Organized House League
Stags Basketball Winter House League is designed for parents and children who want to play organized basketball. It is intended to nurture skills development and sportsmanship through positive interactions between teammates and opposition team members.
We believed that FUN is crucial to a child's interest. We let the children play and experience basketball at their own skill level and have fun; If fun is compromised, they will lose interest.
Start date: Tuesday, January 5, 2010
End date: Tuesday, March 2, 2010
Time: 7:00pm to 8:15pm (Ages 6 to 11, Coed), 8:15pm to 9:30pm (Ages 12 to 15, Boys)
Games: Every Tuesdays, minimum 9 games.

Cost:
$105 for current member
$120 for new member (will receive Steve Nash jersey & ball)
$3.00 processing fee for online registration.
WINTER HOUSE LEAGUE STRUCTURE:
1. Teams will be formed, number of teams will depend on number of registered participants. Maximum 10 players per team.
2. Participants will be "equally" divided and be placed on teams based on their skill level and ages. Coach will be designated.
3. Each child willl have the opportunity to have equal playing time, to be engaged in the basketball action, and to try different positions.
4. Neither indvidual score nor fouls will be kept. Team score and standings will be tracked for reference only. Each team will have a minimum of 8 games.
5. Each participant will be recognized and will be given an official STEVE NASH program certificate at the end of the program.
HOUSE LEAGUE RULES & REGULATIONS:
FIBA (International Basketball Federation) rules will be adopted, with some modifications to suit the age and skill levels of the participants.
1. GAMES - Equal participation rule will be in effect the entire game. Game will be eight periods of 5 minutes each. Each player must play minimum of 4 shifts.
2. OVERTIME - The lenght of extra period shall be two minutes long.
3. HALF COURT "PERSON TO PERSON" DEFENCE IS MANDATORY. Full court press is only permitted on the last period. Zone defence and double teaming are not permitted at anytime.
4. SCORE - Team scores shall be tracked and recorded. Individual scores will not be tracked.
5. FOULS - Team fouls shall be tracked and recorded. Individual fouls will not be tracked but warning will be given for those who committed a "hard and intentional" fouls.
6. TIME-OUTS - Two 60 second time outs in the first half. Three 60 seconds time outs in the second half.
